Fun Location and Layout, Not Luxury

We had 18 people stay at this lodge and we really had a blast. The property is pretty clean but not well maintained. There is zero cell service and the wifi is limited so keep that in mind. Overall it was fun and spacious but do not expect too much for this property.

Amazing House for 20+

Review by Kyle C.
We brought 22 people with us and this placed never seemed small. We were able to all gather in the living area and hang out. Eat together and play together. A Beautiful house inside and very spacious. The only negative I have is not with the home but with the rental company. We had to drive into town to pick up our packet to get into the house. The only thing in the packet was the code to the door and instructions for leaving. Those things could have been emailed to us. We were 2am getting into town and so it was just an inconvenience to have to go get the packet instead of going straight to the cabin.

Amazing Week

Review by Debbie M.
We spent an amazing week in this cabin/lodge and would highly recommend this to any large group. There was plenty of room to spread out, the beds were comfortable, the living room was amazing, the views were spectacular. The only minor issue was WI-FI connectivity- it was very spotty. We got married in the cabin and I would encourage the management company to promote this as a great wedding venue for a small group.

Great place for a family reunion

This house was perfect for our family reunion. We ranged in age from 18 months to 80 years, and everyone had a great time. We were here in October and the trees were beautiful! We loved the peace and quiet of the location, but be prepared for a bit of a drive to get to a grocery store.

Great home, very remote, good place to unplug

Review by Christin B.
The set up of the home is wonderful! It is huge and there is plenty of space to spread out- even with our party of 24. You are in the middle of the mountains so don’t expect lightening speed wifi and your cellular service most likely will be non-existent. This isn’t to any fault of the owners, but just a bonus of being secluded by trees on top of a mountain. The home itself is beautiful with all the logs and woodwork. The lighting could be better- just switching to LED white light throughout the home would help significantly. The driveway is rather small. We were able to fit 4 cars in with some maneuvering, but it is tight. You will need front wheel drive, at minimum, to get into and out of driveway. In the winter months I would suspect 4 wheel drive or AWD only. The owner and property manager were both very responsive and attended to the questions we had during our stay. We enjoyed our week long getaway and would return again.

My Blue Ridge Elk Lodge Review

Review by ronald s.
The home was clean and spacious with plenty of room for everyone and, overall, our stay was enjoyable. However, more attention needs to be paid preparing the home for renters. For instance, the TV remote for the TV in the family room wasn't found until the fourth day, up until that time the TV was almost unusable. The TV down in the lower level was unusable because the HDMI cable for the cable box to the TV was missing and the TV had no remote to turn it off and on. The furniture around the fire pit was too flimsy to support any weight; someone could have been injured trying to sit in them. And most importantly, the heat in the master bedroom was almost unbearable, generally hovering above 80 degrees. The home itself, and the location, made our stay enjoyable. I would recommend this property to a friend provided the heat in the master bedroom be corrected, and more attention to detail be paid. For the price of the rental, inconveniences, however slight, should be kept to a minimum.

Great space for our 20+ Family of kids and grand kids. Plenty of space to spread our away from adults or away from kids which ever you prefer. Icing on the cake was the late spring snow fall and sitting in the hot tub petting it snow on us.

Memorable Ski Weekend with Friends and Family

Review by Jennifer C.
We loved our stay at the Blue Ridge Elk Lodge. There was plenty of space for our four families to hang out. The house is gorgeous and pretty well stocked for a big group. Overall it was very clean and in good shape - pretty much what I expected for a large rental home. It snowed and it was beautiful but we did have to shovel the driveway to get out. We loved our stay here!

Wonderful house to get away from everything

Review by kara b.
Our family group of 15 had a lovely stay there on our trip to Maggie Valley. I will say it is a little bit tough to get to without a good vehicle and there is NO reliable internet or phone service. Most bedrooms are super comfortable, the outdoor space is very nice, the kitchen well appointed and the common areas ample and fun. The bunk rooms are great for kids but the mattresses weren't up to my old bones.

Just Beautiful

This cabin is absolutely beautiful! There was so much room for family and friends. It is nestled in the woods, and the view is stunning. It had everything we needed and provided a beautiful backdrop for my daughter’s small wedding celebration.

Family Get Together

Review by Robert B.
Great property, great location. Drive way was a little difficult (gravel, steep and tight). Large, clean. Porch and fire pit were big hits with our group. We had 12 adults and 1 child. Had beds for another 5 without having to use the pullouts. Minor complaints- not nearly enough forks or glassware (including wine glasses) for 13 let alone the 28 the property is advertised to sleep.

Perfect group retreat home...but...

Review by Thomas C.
There is more good about this home than bad! We loved our stay and the home was the perfect place for our group of 30. The layout/floor plan is very spacious, the bathroom to bedroom ratio is near perfect and the kitchen was wonderful in size for cooking and feeding a group of 30. The pool table, foosball table and hot tub were AWESOME! Our group loved the "game room". The beds were very comfortable, the house was clean and overall we loved the house. The down side to the cabin, the road and driveway in is really only suited for all wheel drive SUV's. Their is only A/C on the top first floor. The main level and basement area rely on the cold air to drop, the ceiling fans and screen doors/windows. We ended up buying two box fans to help circulate the air. The house is beautiful, but the lighting is lacking, most rooms are very dimly lit, which wasn't a problem except for in the kitchen where you need extra light. Cellphone service is Non-existent (which isn't a negative if you want an escape) and the Wifi is quite spotty/slow. There are also some maintenance issues such as stoped up and overflowing gutters, doors with broken or sticking locks, the porch is rotting where the gutter is stopped up so it is scary to walk there, and some of the wall outlets are loose from their socket. The grounds are also not well kept. The house is up for sale, it seems like its just in need of some TLC and would be amazing, but I can only imagine the work it takes to up keep a house the size of a small hotel! We loved the stay there, the house was perfect for our week away and our group sizes, the owner and rental agency was so nice and easy to work with! Definitely a good home to escape and unplug. You can tell the builder knew who to design a large home. If you are a large group and looking to unplug and disconnect from "reality", this is a place for you!

Secluded getaway

Review by Sabeen P.
Blue Ridge Elk Lodge is located in a secluded are of the Maggie Valley. It is only 10 mins from town. The mini waterfall on the property immediately gets you to relax as you enjoy your morning coffee on the swing. As expected, internet access and phone service are limited out here so plan accordingly. Melissa, the property manager is a delight and was very helpful with any questions we had. You do need to take out the trash in town so be mindful of that. Our family of 15 had a wonderful time.

Within the woods

The cabin is quite secluded and you won't see any neighbors. The house is large even for a group of 20 people. It would have been perfect but kitchen light was not working, basement bedroom light was not working, no hot water at basement bathrooms, basement AC was not working and grounds/landscaping is not maintained at all. We called Premier Vacation Rentals about these issues, the elderly father of the cabin owner came to check it and promised to fix but never did fix.

The Palacial Log Palace in Maggie Valley

Review by Doug P.
I recently led a men's retreat at the Blue Ridge Elk Lodge. What a place! We were all transplanted to Colorado without having to leave N.C. If you are looking for room to spread out with plenty of beds you won't find anything nicer on either side of the Smokies. The only critique I could offer is the need for one more refrigerator.

I took my family to this cabin and everyone had an amazing time. Beautiful scenery and a lot of things to do. Everyone kept busy and were entertained the entire visit. Would recommend this place. If I had to say anything negative I would say the lightning could have been better. The kitchen was kinda dark. The ceiling fan light was not working.

Mountain Getaway

Review by Betty N.
The cabin is beautiful! I felt that the grounds themselves needed a little sprucing up. There was a lot of clutter about which took away from the beauty of the place. The inside of the cabin was beautiful as well. Overall it was clean. The master bathroom tub area was not very clean and had to be cleaned prior to use. The beds were very comfortable, however the pillows were horrible. In the kitchen there was an abundance of things you would need, however the nonstick cookware was in very bad shape. The nonstick surface was peeling in al the pans. This is hard to cook in and is also dangerous. It is. It safe for guest to be ingesting the Teflon from the pans. The carpet downstairs was stained with what looked to be urine stains, even though no pets are allowed in the cabin. I was happy with the location, size, beauty and seclusion of the home. I do feel for the price it should have been cleaner, had better cooking supplies, and definitely pillows that weren’t flat as a pancake. The cleaning fee for this cabin is 500.00. It would’ve been nice for that to have been reflected when I walked into the home. I just didn’t feel it was that clean.

Review by kathleen c.
We loved our time at your cabin. It was clean, comfortable, quiet and beautiful. It very comfortably hosted all 23 of us and the kids in the group loved the downstairs. Our only complaint was that there was not enough seating for dining so half of the group had to eat meals on the couch. Other than that, it was awesome!

Beautiful Home

Review by Jill R.
This was our ninth annual Thanksgiving Family retreat and this home fit us perfectly. There was plenty of room for everyone. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed. Though some of the pots and pans could use replacing. The only drawback was that there was a very limited WiFi connection and we had several people that needed to work and do school work which caused them to have to drive into town. Overall we had a great time here and made a lot of great memories.

Family Gathering Nirvana

What a spectacular property—Our mouths fell open when we walked through the door. Amazing huge log construction perfectly designed to support large groups with numerous sitting areas, many bathrooms and a wonderful entertainment / play area in the basement. The house was immaculately clean—the well stocked kitchen and huge table made for great meals. We were disappointed in the many maintenance issues that required calls to the Property Management company and workers in the house to correct problems with WIFI, TV, Gas Fireplace, Ice Maker—a Property in this price range should have a complete QC check before each booking. The evening of our planned cook-out, we discovered that the Gas Grill also did not work and could get no response from support #s—ended up having to cook all the burgers and hot dogs in a skillet on the stove. In spite of the problems, we loved our time in Maggie Valley and ended our stay with a large herd of Elk roaming through the woods just outside the cabin—magical!

Large House Was Great For Annual College Friends Gathering

Review by Elisabeth F.
The spaciousness of the house was amazing! Plenty of seating and lots of varied spaces for people to gather to talk, eat, etc. Our group had lots of small kids, and they had a blast playing in the game room/basement and in the outdoor areas as well. The back deck is well-shaded which means it got tons of use by our group. All in all, we were very pleased. There were some smaller things that were a bit of a disappointment and kept me from giving it a 5-star review: First, there was a water leak in one of the upstairs bedrooms that was never addressed during our stay despite multiple communications with the management co. Also, two of the bathrooms still had dirty towels and wash clothes hanging up in them when we arrived. We were also disappointed at having to haul away our own trash. For $500 cleaning fee, we felt they should have had a place to deposit trash that could then have been hauled off by housekeeping after our stay. And, you definitely need a 4 wheel drive for the driveway, so take that advice as listed in the description.

Family Vacation

Review by Brenda S.
Loved the location of the cabin. Much larger than it appears in the online photos. There were 18 family members staying in the home and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their space. The beds were like sleeping on a cloud, best sleep I have had in a long time. Only issue we had was with the driveway going out. Had to push out one of the cars that got stuck. They did come down and fix it but with the heavy rains did not make much of a difference. The property management was top notch. Answered all our concerns and took care of any issues we had. Thanks for a great week in the mountains.

Fantastic place for a family reunion!

We were very happy with our stay at the Blue Ridge Elk Lodge! We had 6 families with 22 people staying very comfortably in this spacious home. The layout was perfect with the young adults staying in the basement bedrooms near the game room. Activities within an hour were ziplining, rafting, fishing and hiking. As other reviewers noted, the driveway is steep and cell phone/wifi is spotty but we knew that going in. At first I worried about it being a little remote on a gravel road, but people enjoyed the quiet privacy and seeing elk along the road!Tip: We brought a long folding table and twelve folding chairs so that we could seat everyone for meals at the same time. There was plenty of room in the large living area to set that up.

Amazing Getaway Spot!

Review by Melissa C.
We had 28 people staying in this beautiful cabin and not once did it feel crowded. The kitchen was spacious, the views were stunning, the hot tub was spotless, and the quiet was incomparable. The internet access is very limited, but for our group, we loved the opportunity to unplug. There is a landline at the cabin so we could let loved ones know how to get ahold of us for anything. The biggest (and really only) issue we had was the driveway. It was steep and we had a small truck not be able to make it up. A few of us had to help push which was difficult on gravel but we all made it out okay. Overall, this was one of the greatest getaway places I’ve ever visited.

Big Family Celebration

The Lodge is very spacious, beautifully constructed, and well outfitted. We very much enjoyed the space and setting. The highland cattle just a short walk from the house into the pasture were a fun surprise. The only things I would mention for someone else are:- Keep in mind the driveway is quite steep. No one had problems getting up to the top but we had nice weather. Not sure what it would be like in bad weather.- There is only a metered internet connection. Meaning if the previous tenant uses all the bandwidth, you don't have one... and no cell phone reception. We enjoyed being forced to disconnect and actually speak to one another while there, so it ended up being a plus. Not sure everyone would have the same experience. Those first couple minutes were terrifying.

Great house for a group

With seven bedrooms and a lounging area on 3 floors, this house was perfect for our group of 16. The kitchen was modern and well equipped with cookware and dishes. The house was very clean but a few light bulbs were missing or not working. The hot tub was welcome after a day of activity. Seeing many elk on the road leading to the lodge was a special treat every evening. A few suggestions to enhance the experience would be the addition of a few floor lamps and switching bulbs to LED natural light. With only ceiling lights, the house at times was dim and it was difficult to read. A new TV and cable connection had recently been installed, but there were no directions how to operate it. The remote was missing to start the gas logs in the fireplace so that too, was not of use. The house is advertised as having internet service but we could rarely connect. I am not sure if that was because we were in the mountains or the monthly data amount had been used up by the former renter. Should be a better way to ensure service is available if it is advertised as having internet. I pass along these comments as suggestions to the owner. These inconveniences in no way took away from the joy of a great weekend, in a splendid luxury log home with friends. It was actually nice to get a break from emails, texts and TV and just enjoy each other in a beautiful mountain setting. Remember board games and cards? We made our own entertainment.

I rented this cabin for about 20 Guests for my wedding and night I say it was more than I could ever ask for. The pictures looked beautiful and I had no doubt in my mind that it would be a great experience. But when you pull in the drive way and open that front door it becomes real! Our guests had an amazing time at this cabin and exploring the surrounding areas. It was supper clean, in beautiful condition, and just perfect for our family and friends for our first family vacation as a new family. You will not regret booking this cabin. Wonderful place to reconnect with family!!

Review by Ginger A.
Our family from North Carolina and Georgia had such a wonderful time at this lodge. It was beautiful and roomy. You had the choice to gather together or have time to yourself. The kitchen was the best with EVERYTHING you needed to prepare meals. The kids (big and little) enjoyed the game room. This was an absolutely wonderful weekend.

Not relaxing at all

A few days before arriving my father called to verify a dog could stay with us and was given the go ahead. We arrive after driving 4 hours to be told that no we cannot bring the dog inside the cabin, after going around and around we finally got the go ahead again. So we head to the cabin and the owner's father lives on the property and informed us he would be checking in every morning which was fine to us but he was a little more nosy than that he stopped all of our guests on the way to let them know and kept asking if we had any teens and how many people were coming. We finally did all arrive and get settled in and the place itself did work out pretty well it's a beautiful home with all the amenities of home and then some. Next day the owner comes around and comments on the dog and let's us know he'll be sending this guy out to do roof work so we wait around the next day and he never shows. Next day the internet was out (not what we were there for anyway) and we decided to go riding around the beautiful mountains. Upon leaving the rental company called us to tell us they were still cleaning the cabin because there was dog poop and pee everywhere (We had 13 people there no one mentioned anything and said it was spotless when they left). Overall it's a great cabin but not worth constantly being hassled.

We are pleased that you found the home beautiful and clean with all the amenities above and beyond your expectations... As noted this is not a pet friendly home but we did agree to your grandmothers small dog coming along although we did not know or approve the pit bull that was at the home.... as we do not allow this breed on any of our properties ... We hope you have a nice day:) The Premier Staff!

Gorgeous and Well Equipped for Large Groups

Our group of 23 LOVED the Blue Ridge Elk Lodge. Plenty of room and everything was clean and gorgeous. This is truly a unique home with a lot of thought put into its design. The location is great - we made trips to Asheville, Cherokee, Clingman's Dome, and Bryson City from here. The property is large and beautiful and includes a short trail down to a stream. The owner lives nearby and was very kind and helpful sharing information about the property and the area. The kitchen is equipped with tons of pots, pans, dishes, and flatware for a large group, and the house has a large capacity washer and dryer. The only downside was that while the master bath has instantly hot water with its own tankless hot water heater, the other bathrooms could use a larger tank. Just try to stagger showers so there's time for water to heat up between uses if you have a large group.

Alumni Golf Group

16 approx 70-yearolds stayed 3 nights and golfed at Maggie Valley and visited Harrahs in Cherokee one night.Excellent to stay in ONE house....need to be somewhat flexible about sleeping arrangements, but each person had his own bed/sleeper.Nicely supplied. had some problems with one TV (Controls), but had several other alternatives. Limited cell phone access, but available outside home on porch, Property is isolated and private and you need a leap of faith when first arriving since last part of road is unpaved....but it is well worth it for a large group.

Beautiful breath taking home

We all had an excellent time here. I got married at this cabin and I would not choose any other place. Staff was very quick to respond and very nice. Location was perfect and home was well maintained. The only thing I would change is the amount of time we spent there. Thank you,

Carolina fall get away

Review by Patricia D.
Our group of 6 couples wanted a fall get away that included fall foliage, hiking, cool weather, beautiful scenery and a fabulous home to share. Blue Ridge Elk Lodge was the perfect answer to all of those requests. This is a fabulous home with plenty of room for large groups. The large kitchen was well stocked with cooking/serving items and had plenty of room for many chefs in the kitchen. The large deck with a wonderful fireplace and rockers overlooks a beautiful forest. Watch for a parade of elk along the property line! The home is a short drive from Maggie Valley and a perfect day trip from Asheville.

Awe and Wonder with Majestic views

Review by Tobias S S.
We travelled to Maggie Valley with our children and grandchildren. There were 24 in our group and there was wonderful space. The home was majestic and comfortable. The decks and porches were situated in a way that you could enjoy mountain views and the wonder of nature. Thank you for a one of a kind vacation. The staff was professional and very helpful.Outstanding customer service like family. The area is filled with historic places to go like Maggie Valley, Cherokee, NC, Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Pigeon Forge, The Smokey Mountains National Park, & Blue Ridge Parkway. There are Restaurants within 15 minutes. We saw elk and squirrels. Beautiful flowers and trees. Mountain views. Too much to describe. The experience of a lifetime and the home to appreciate it in. Thank you for this location.

Stunning luxury cabin

This is very gorgeous cabin. It was spotless and very neat. Everything in the house is perfect and beautiful. The location is good too but can easily get lost if doesn't know the place. We enjoyed The nature here. The internet is very slow to almkoat nothing but it worked out to the advantage at times so we can all talk to each other and not just looking at our cell phones. This is highly recommended for everyone.
