Come and enjoy your Smoky Mountain getaway in a 2 bedroom 2 bath log cabin that sits on over 1000 feet of creek frontage. This home is located near the entrance of I-40 in Waynesville and only 10 minutes to near by Maggie Valley. Little Ponderosa has paved road access with a gravel parking area that also includes a covered parking area and back porch entry. There is a lower basement apartment with separate entrance that is occupied full time.

Make your way down to the creek and sitting area by way of stairs with handrails. Nice large observation deck and a fire pit area. Jonathan Creek is home to the native trout that is stocked each year. Enjoy some fly fishing or just take an easy float.

This home features 2 bedrooms with a loft and an open concept of living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. The main level entry has a queen size bed, cable TV and full bath with walk in shower that is handicap friendly. This level has a full size stacked washer and dryer. The living room sports a nice stone gas fireplace for those relaxing evenings. Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi to plan out your adventures.

The upstairs has an open loft with second sitting area. The upstairs bedroom features a king size bed with cable TV and full size bath with a tub/shower combination. We welcome you and your family to come and spend your vacation at our home away from home! See you soon…

Instructions for Check-In/Check-Out

• You must check-in at our office at 2787 Soco Rd. in Maggie Valley. We are located in Eagles Plaza near Snappy’s Pizza.



• Check in times will begin at 4:00 pm, however, this is not guaranteed. We work very hard to accommodate this check in time, but additional cleaning and inspection may be required for the rental homes, especially during peak and holiday seasons. You are welcome to call the office before your arrival to see if your vacation rental is ready for occupancy.



• During business hours, your check-in packet will be in our office. If you arrive after business hours, your packet will be in the RED drop box located just outside our office door. This packet includes directions to the home, keys, an afterhours emergency number, local trash locations, and directions to various grocery stores.



• Check out is 10:00 am and all keys need to be returned to our office or placed in the locked section of the RED drop box.



Items you will need to bring with you

(owners do not supply these items, however, if they are in the home, you are welcome to use)

• all paper products (toilet paper, napkins, paper plates, paper towels)

• trash bags, tin foil, baggies, coffee filters

• dish soap, laundry soap, hand soap, bath products



• All homes are furnished with bed and bath linens, pots & pans, and dishes. The homes also have washer and dryers for your use.

• Utility outages (power, cable, internet) are out of our control and we will make every effort for a quick resolve. There are no adjustments or refunds due to utility outages.

• NON-DISCLOSURE OF PETS WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE EVICTION AND NO REFUNDS!

• If you are wanting to have firewood delivered, please call our office atand we will give you a contact person for that.

• Please be aware that weather and road conditions can change drastically in the mountains during the winter, even if there is no snow, roads can still become icy and dangerous (this includes steps and driveways) Please plan accordingly and drive safely.

Cabin Review

This cabin is ideal for a small family gathering. It is right on the river with great fishing holes. The property was clean however, we had to wash all the dishes before we used them. Most of the dishes were covered with a greasy brown film. Also, note that there is a tenant that lives underneath the main level. I believe this should have been clearly listed on the vacation rental details. You are really sharing the premises with other people that you do not know instead of having the entire house and property to yourself. The tenant also made it very clear that the two parking spots in front of the cabin are her parking spots. The renters parking spots are the car port and then any other vehicles will need to park single file behind them. So, renters should be aware that only 2 cars can safely park at the cabin. Also, note that if you have anyone sensitive to cigarette smoke like little ones, the tenant and/or their guest did smoke which came up through the back-deck area. The back deck has a wonderful view of the river and an amazing hammock to relax on. Also, tenant’s and guest were loud as they came back in the wee hours of the morning, honking their horn, laughing and playing music. Note the assigned parking spots for the tenant are directly openside the downstairs bedroom. So, again if you have little ones or if you are sensitive to noise, this could be an issue for you. Also, the tenant let us know that this was annual July 4th activity. So, beware if you are staying on the July 4th week. I would recommend this location for anyone that is wanting to fish otherwise, if you are gathering as a family vacation, it is awkward and hard to fully relax knowing that there is a tenant on the premises.

Overall very satisfied

Loved the kitchen and den area. Loved the location on a beautiful creek and access to surrounding areas! The downside was the rotten deck boards that my husband fell through, thankfully not seriously injured. The full time tenant was only an issue because we were on guard to not disturb others. It was a little inconvenience to shift our cars around regarding parking due to the tenants vehicles. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean!

Fishing and Peace!

Very cute and very clean. Great fishing right out outside and the beautiful noise of the water helps with road noise out back. Very peaceful stay, close to alot of great places we visited!
