Too Much Work for a Vacation

Review by Adam R.
We arrived at the home around 4 o'clock. The drive to Tucked Away is rather easy, though the parking area is a bit tough to turn around. Upon walking in, it was the clear the property had not been cleaned. Grease on the stove, dirty floors, towels in the tub, sheets on the bed, etc. After calling the agency, the cleaning company sent a cleaning company out around six o'clock. She worked diligently, for over two hours...trapping our wives and four kids(all under 4) in the basement while doing so. The cleaning company didn't have time to do the laundry, so my brother-in-law and myself washed sheets and towels until 12:30 am, trying to have clean sheets and towels for bath and rest. Our wives and kids had to spend the night on the couches. The property, when cleaned is nice. Not very kid friendly. The house sits on the side of the mountain with a steep drop and other than the small fire pit area, there isn't anywhere for them to run around safely. The house has three floors, which makes for a lot of climbing up and down. Several lights in the home didn't work, the shower faucet on the main level shot off during a shower and popped me in the shin(also hot is cold and cold is hot), and the water put off a terrible odor. I'm not sure if that is a normal sulfur smell for mountain wells? The location is great and a very short drive to downtown Waynesville or Maggie's Valley. The cabin, when properly maintained, is beautiful and spacious. The furniture and appliances are very nice and the beds are comfortable. This has the potential to be a very good rental, but several small details need to be attended to.

Great house needs a little more furnishings

Great house but wouldn't rent again due to lack of dressers/chests in all bedrooms. No place to put underware, tshirts etc. also no chair to sit in upstairs.Tv is mounted so high in family room that we got sore necks when watching. Gorgeous view from deck but no deck furniture to eat outside and enjoy I would rent again if more furniture is added, including rugs on the floors. The beautiful wood floors were scratched up before we arrived
